(Beijing, January 11) Jiangsu gained the women's championship of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Handball Tournament after beating Beijng 29-24 in the final today at the National Indoor Stadium.

The two teams had tied 29-29 in the heats and held the same record of 2 wins and 1 draw after group matches.

Beijng set the pace for a 9-5 lead 17 minute into the first period and kept ahead 14-9 into the break.

In the second half, Jiangsu erupted to equalize the score in the 13th minute, 19 all, and continued its form to lead 25-20 after 21 minutes. Beijing tried to make a final fightback but it was Jiangsu who maintained its advance for good, winning the women's title 29-24.
