

(Beijing, January 6) The Beijing women's handball team claimed a scary 24-23 win over Anhui in the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Handball Tournament at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium this afternoon.
Anhui opened scoring in the first half but Beijing triggered a 5-0 run for a 5-1 lead. Conceding at 12-8 with 25 minutes into the game, Anhui asked for a time-out but the players couldn't bring out their best form, falling 15-10 into the locker room.
Beijing continued its edge in the second half, making it 18-11 in the first 5 minutes. Anhui moved closer at 18-15 and managed to tie the score at 23 each in the 28th minute. It was the more experienced Beijing who connected on a decider in the last minute to win 24-23.
Beijing now stands atop the list with 1 win and 1 draw. Jiangsu and Beijing PLA rank second and third tandem with Anhui at the bottom.
